Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Tuesday failed in his bid to slash a nearly $50 million defamation verdict against him over his false claims that the 2012 Sandy Hook mass shooting was a hoax.

JT Lewis, brother of slain Sandy Hook victim Jesse Lewis, argued Jones should be brought back because lifetime ban legitimizes conspiracy theories.

Arriving at court Wednesday, Jones engaged in a full-scale meltdown, asserting that hes apologized for the comments for years and they should be protected by the First Amendment.

On his own show just days after the ruling, Jones claimed the trial against him was coordinated and run by Soros and operatives. He did not identify the other operatives by name.

William Aldenberg was the first witness to give evidence as a Connecticut jury began hearing statements in the second trial of Alex Jones for defamation.

In August, Alex Jones was ordered to pay nearly $50 million in damages for calling the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting a hoax.
