A 26-year-old convict lodged in Tihar jail reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the washroom of his barrack in the wee hours on Tuesday.

Last week, several videos from the jail emerged showing the four accused purportedly climbing down from the first floor to the ground floor, chasing Tillu and stabbing him repeatedly.

According to senior Delhi Police officers, all it took was a college election in 2013 and a subsequent fight over dominance and muscle power with his childhood friend and life-long rival Jitender Mann alias Gogi, for Tillu to change gears.

Friday’s video, which seems to have been captured moments after Tillu was attacked inside the ward, shows around four jail officials shifting his blood-soaked body to the prison OPD through a common gallery when they were overpowered by the accused.

In the video, four men jump with the help of a bed sheet and Tillu (in red t-shirt) runs towards a cell to hide. As he tries to shut the gate of the cell, three of the accused are seen overpowering him.
