The National Cycling Centre in Manchesters SportCity is the home of British cycling. Jo Rowsell and Laura Trott are among Olympians who train at the 3,000 seater velodrome. It became the countrys first indoor Olympic-standard cycling track when it opened in 1994. The centre has hosted national and world championships as well as at the Commonwealth Games in 2002. In 2011, a world-class indoor £19m BMX track was opened next door.
