The 2023-24 Student Government Leadership team made history as the schools first all women leadership team. During the spring election seven women were elected by the student body to serve throughout the upcoming year. SGA represent the student body in regards to the Board of Regents, administration, faculty and works to enhance student life.

Amarillo College was announced a winner of the national prize, along with Imperial Valley Community College in California.

This year Amarillo College and Imperial Valley College of California are sharing the top award and each receiving $500,000.
