To the editor: Read with much interest Mr. John Barrettes Nevada Appeal story about the Ormsby House 15 year rebuilding project. The basic problem seems to be the owners are not hotel industry people. They are computer experts.

Board of Supervisors of Nevada’s capital Carson City, founded in 1858, began its day on Feb. 15 with ancient Gayatri Mantra, considered the most sacred mantra of Hinduism.

Carson City Mayor, attorney and Vietnam veteran Robert L. "Bob" Crowell died overnight. He was 74. Robert L. "Bob" Crowell was a native Nevadan, born in the mining town of Tonopah and raised in Carson City. An attorney by profession, Bob was a Vietnam Veteran and retired Navy Captain.

Ward 4 Carson City Supervisor John Barrette, who declined to run for re-election and will leave office in January, will be the featured speaker at Mondays Democratic tele-luncheon.

The League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, in partnership with Sierra Nevada Forums, American Association of University Women Capital Branch, and PFLAG Carson Region, will present election forums Wednesday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 18.

In the 1970s, the school closed, and Fischer Mansion was sold to Atlanta Unity Church. The church used the mansion for church services, Sunday School, offices and a bookstore.
