BATON ROUGE — While visiting Baton Rouge, civil rights lawyer Ben Crump shared new evidence that claims the death of Avoyelles Parish inmate Jerome Stevenson may have been condoned and sanctioned by prison officials.

Attorney Ben Crump spoke Monday at a Pointe Coupee Parish church, telling a small crowd that his investigation into the death of an Avoyelles Parish inmate was continuing and that they would not give up until there was justice.

Three men have been charged in connection to the jail beating and death of Avoyelles Parish inmate Jerome Stevenson.
