A young man from Boston killed by a lightning strike in Wyoming last week has been identified by his family.

John "Jack" Murphy, 22, was a Boston native who was killed by a lightning strike in Wyoming on Tuesday while he was backpacking.

The Boston-based student was on a trip with the Lander, Wyo.-based National Outdoor Leadership School, or NOLS. The case is the first fatality caused by a lightning strike in Wyoming in more than ten years.
