Landwehr’s life, like the 1920s, was roaring. But not forever.

By 1911, Holland Furnace’s factory doubled in size. It was producing 10 furnaces per day, as well as dustless ash and odorless garbage cans.

Beach was born in 1851 in Livingston County, New York, the son of Horace and Catherine Giddings Beach, who moved to Holland around 1870.

Charles McLean was in the middle of it all. He was born in 1856. His father had emigrated from Scotland, his mother from Canada.

Hermanus Boone loved horses. He was born in 1840 and married Helena Pfanstiehl in 1866. His family was often in possession of Hollands City Hotel, also known as Hotel Holland or Holland Hotel.
