FUTURISTIC designs have been drawn up showing an ambitious vision for an area of a Cheshire town.

It was a feisty start for the Place North West event, with chair Dan Whelan asking if Cheshire was squandering opportunities for growth.

Outline proposals include demolishing New Town House off Scotland Road to make room for up to 900 apartments, 215,000 sq ft of office space and a hotel.
