The die-off marks the third massive fish kill in the area in recent years.

The dead fish were discovered on Tuesday in Rush Creek just outside of Lewiston.

This winters deep snow from Duluth to Grand Portage ensures the North Shores 60-odd steelhead rivers will have sufficient water in spring for the fish to make their spawning runs from Lake Superior.
