During his first court appearance at the Hillbrow Magistrate’s court on Friday morning, it transpired that the man accused of damaging the doors and windows of the Constitutional court on Wednesday is currently on parole for a murder conviction.

Adv. Gerrie Nel, Head of AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit, today made closing arguments in the inquest into the death of Suraya Deedat and her four children (between the ages of six months and four years) in a fire in 2011.
