Neglected for many years, the Selskar Augustinian Priory and its graveyard had become overgrown with weeds, headstones had been broken and the medieval church vandalised. Recognising the historical importance of the site and its significance to the people of Wexford, the local Lions Club took it upon themselves to carry out a major rejuvenation project at the priory, cleaning its surrounds, researching and marking the graves, and becoming the guardians of Selskar.

Gorey gardaรญ are investigating after headstones at the old Clonattin graveyard on the outskirts of Gorey were damaged by spray paint. The blue paint, commonly used to mark roads, was sprayed across a number of headstones, some of which are very significant to Goreys history.
