Toyota and Daewon America have invested into expanding their Alabama facilities, creating a total of 450 jobs for the region.

In addition to the employers present, the fair will have several community resource partners there to offer assistance with employment barriers like available childcare, transportation and additional training.

The City of Opelika received a $2 million grant today to be used for an extension of North Park Drive in the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park and a bridge across Halawakee Creek.

“We are fortunate to have this thriving industry in Opelika. GSF enhances our local economy and has made a positive impact in our community," Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller said.

Director of Economic Development Lori Huguley will retire from the City of Opelika on Wednesday, Jan. 31, and John Sweatman will take over her role on Thursday, Feb. 1.
