Limpopo health MEC Phophi Ramathuba has defended her style of leadership after a video of her scolding nurses and management at Rethabile Clinic in Polokwane drew mixed reactions.

The Public Servants Association in Limpopo has condemned Dr Phophi Ramathuba, the MEC for health, for her approach to dealing with service delivery at health facilities.

Public Servants Association members joined a nationwide strike by those aligned to several other such unions on Tuesday.

Unions cannot guarantee a national shutdown will not descend into chaos. 



Workers affiliated to the Public Servants Association are expected to embark on a nationwide strike on Thursday over wage increases and other demands.

The Public Servants Association has given notice of its intention to down tools in the public sector.
