This week’s column features two roots festivals located in Virginia: Appaloosa Festival and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion. Each draws a different lineup of artists, but both offer unique experiences in locales hospitable to roots music.

Scythian rocked a completely packed house full of over 2,000 Knights of Columbus and their families Monday night in Orlando, Florida.
