DOVER-FOXCROFT — As a way to supplement an increased emergency call volume and staffing challenges currently being experienced by Northern Light Mayo Emergency Medical Services, the town of Dover-Foxcroft is proposing the creation of a municipal EMS department to supplement that of the hospital. DOVER-FOXCROFT — A dog named Pua, missing since June, has captivated a small Piscataquis County town. Pua, named after the cuddly pig in the Disney animated film “Moana,” is a Great Dane and German shepherd mix.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Under the auspices of a steering committee, a partners team is working to consider the various possibilities and everything tying into the Mayo Mill Dam downtown on the Piscataquis River.  — such as an assessment of the physical condition of the structure and property, an inventory, and being in compliance with all regulations — to be included in a community-based feasibility study to help determine the long-term future of the dam.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Like many other organizations amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the Thompson Free Library moved a number of popular activities outside away from indoor spaces for health and safety purposes. A Maine State Library grant funded a large tent that was set behind the East Main Street building near River Street for concerts, author readings, and more, but in 2022 the tent collapsed.

This money will be used to improve the library’s ability to help our community no matter what the need.
