The party said it cannot be business as usual after lives were lost, properties damaged, and livelihoods negatively impacted.

The GOOD Party said that it was Cape Town’s poorest communities that were suffering the most from operations being withdrawn across the city, while ActionSA urged the city and the taxi industry to return to the negotiating table.

Taxi operations have been withdrawn across the province since Thursday afternoon, leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

The GOOD party has accused the African Restoration Alliance of trying to buy votes from residents in a hotly contested by election in Ward 56, Cape Town.
