Lake Zurich Village Board gives green light to first developer in the town's industrial TIF district.

After clashing over its size, Lake Zurich leaders passed the villages 2022 budget, which calls for increased spending amid the economic recovery from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lake Zurich village board approved a plan to establish the towns first marijuana dispensary -- to be called Bloc Cannabis Dispensary -- at the old TGI Fridays restaurant on South Rand Road near Costco.

Lake Zurich board member Jonathan Sprawka blasted onetime trustee candidate Eric Dubiel for filing what Sprawka calls "frivolous suits against the village and trustees." Dubiel admitted to two legal actions related to village politics.
