While some couples have struggled amid the pandemic and social distancing, others have strengthened their love, comfort and support.
Maria C. Pulido and her husband Manuel Pulido III have been married for 32 years.
According to the Pulidos, the pandemic is nothing new when it comes to health scares as the couple has been alone since their children grew up and moved to different parts of the country. Manuel helped Maria fully recover from a stroke she had four years ago. Even though it meant the couple would have to remain together for a long time alone and at home, they persevered and Maria fully recovered. One of the Gateway City’s premiere tourist events will go fully virtual this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that the number of cases in the city continues to be high.
The ninth-annual edition of the Laredo Birding Festival is set to take place Saturday. Although the event will not partake in their yearly expeditions around the city as locals and tourists gather to go bird watching they will hold bird watching expeditions virtually for those that do attend.
