injured during a shooting in the kingsessing section of southwest philadelphia. detectives tell "eyewitness news", it happened just before 2:00 at the intersection of 52nd and woodland avenue. the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is in critical condition, with a gunshot wounds to the chest. we just checked, and so far, there are no arrests. and fire in the belmont section of west philadelphia. displace as family of three. flames broke out shortly after 12:30, on the 4100 block of ogdon street. the firefighters were able to get it under control by 1:00 o'clock. no one was injured. the red cross of philadelphia is assisting that family. toddler remains hospitalized in stable condition, after falling from a first floor window. it happened on the 900 block of bridge street, in northeast philadelphia's somerdale neighborhood friday evening. the police say the 19 month old girl fractured her skull and suffered a concussion. an investigation into the fall continues. so far no arrests have been made. authorities are investigating a plane mystery involving after fluent couple from new york state. this morning, search crews will navigate the waters off the coast of be so hot, inland, they'll be pretty warm at the shore, too, into the middle 80s, but i think a little cooler than they are inland. already got 74 degrees down in cape may. and we are looking at the sun coming up, looks absolutely beautiful out there. storm scan3, this is what is going to change our weather, though, this is a front that's coming on through, notice, in advance of the front, we have some clouds, and then the showers come out. so expect to find a progression through the area today. and i will time this out. we will take a look at t but just notice that there are some showers, associated with it, and we could also be finding gusty winds and some heavy downpours. not everybody's going to be finding those downpours, but they can be embedded in some of these showers and storms, when they arrive here later on today. temperature right now, 76 in philadelphia. 76 degrees in millville. what time is it? it is 6:15. we are looking at temperatures like this. how we will wish for this in a couple of months. so, i think maybe instead of complaining, let's save our complaints for the wintertime when we may need them. we are looking, i mention, colds front, look what happened. so we've got temperatures in the 70s right now, look when you go back to the west. it is in the 50's, the lower 50's, through minneapolis, the same air mass that's going to eventually be moving into our area. so, we start to notice that cooling by the time we get to tomorrow. front coming through, cutting those 90 agree temperatures down into just probably 79, 08 degrees, by the time we get to tomorrow. high pressure builds in for day or so, looks beautiful around here. the humidity drops. i think you will like it and then we will be maybe finding couple of showers possible. i'll show that you, a well. severe threat, slight ritz being for some severe weather but notice where this is for the severe weather. it looks like it is to the north and the east of philadelphia. but, gusty winds, heavy rain shower, thunder, associated with some of that, and that doesn't mean that we can't be finding some heavy rain, some thunder, some gusty winds even south of all of this. but it looks like the primary area, where you would find some of this risk of the severe weather, would be to the north. so the timing now, so if you have not look up yet from your cereal bowl, or opened your eyes, here we go. why don't you look up now. here is the clock, here we have the showers that are holding up, this is 3:00 in the afternoon. notice, just scattered around, and very widely, according to this computer model. looks as if that front is slowing, its progression, closer it gets to us, so this is 3:00. much of the rest of the area, not a problem. by the time we get 8:00, 9:00, 10:00. that's when we start to see the showers coming through the area, we keep them here until about midnight. they leave. we get rapid clearing after that. and i think tomorrow looks a lot better by the time we get to monday, we're looking at great weather, it is cool, and then by tuesday, couple of showers, might be impacting maybe just the shore areas, and speaking of which, the temperatures in the ocean are way up into the 70s, 80 plus in some locations, beach temperature of eight a degrees today, low risk of rip current. 90 degrees, feeling like 95, keep yourselves cool. keep your pets just as cool. no kids or pets in cars today that are parked at all. 65 degrees, showers, thunderstorms for us tonight, early, and then after midnight we start to clear out. and we will be left with temperatures right about 70, 08 degrees tomorrow, and in the 70s on monday and tuesday. and then we're in the lower 80s after. that will does not look like bad week. but couple of showers chances active scene today. i think a lot of people will probably be headed down to the beaches. it will be cooler there, not cool, because temperatures even at the beaches are going to be in the middle 80s. we have storm scan3, showing what is to follow. and that would be a couple of showers, thunderstorms, as we head into the late afternoon, and nighttime hours. maybe specially the nighttime hours. >> outside of northeast philadelphia market. gunmen got away with tens every thousands of dollars. the victim, who spoke with our walt hunter, is offering his own reward money in the case. >> he fighter ride at the next woman, quite un expected. >> the victim businessman, whose identity we're concealing, just pulled into a parking space, when he says the robber approached his window and opened fire almost point blank, as he sat in the drivers seat. >> he shot me, he thought i must have been, you know, passed. even if i die he don't care, you know? he was looking for the monday. >> i luckily the bullet pierced the victim's arm, leaving a one that did no permanent damage. >> by the grace of god, okay, the bullet had hit me, and it passed through, and exit dollars. and as i said, it is likely happened last month when the women were reportedly denied alcohol at a wine and spirit shop on north american street in fairhill. officers say, two women were thrown out after a dispute with a guard. they then returned with two men, all four of them attacked the man. one of the suspects hitting the victim with a bottle. search underway for four suspected who robbed an elderly man of $14,000. police say the suspect persuaded the victim to withdraw that money from two banks at parx casino. they believe all part of a financial scheme. the suspects included one man who walked with a cane, they left the scene, in a white mini-van. >> sources tell atlantic city trump taj mahal will file for bankruptcy and plans to close. those sore cents say closure is likely to happen in november. warned act layoff notice also go out next week. that means, nearly 3,000 employees will lose their jobs. adding to the thousands of other casino employees, already out of work, with a closures of showboat and revel this week, cbs news correspondent marlie hall looks at how ex casino employees are faring. >> now she and her nine year old dolt remember trying to deal with cards they've been dealt. >> it will be pretty hard to get a full-time job, especially in atlantic city. >> revel casino, and the showboat coon shutdown last week. trump plaza is set to close its casino on september 16th. >> atlantic city started the year with 12 casinos, by mid september, it will be down to eight and nearly 8,000 people out of work. workers here face a job market that remains challenging. the labor department says, employers added just 142,000 jobs in august, considerably less than analysts expected, the unemployment rate actually dropped from 6.2 to 6.1%, because many people gave up looking for work. >> ex casino workers in atlantic city have gun to search. fifty-six year old ronnie downing was kitchen steward at revel casino and wore business his family's future. >> i will take a look at what i need to do to scale back on finance. >> ronnie now volunteers at resource center to help laid off casino workers apply for unemployment and learn about their options. kayla says one school students killed in a crash near the poconos. seamus digney will be laid to rest today. funeral services were held yesterday, for ryan lesher and thursday for cullen keffer. three students and three others in a car that rolled over in wayne county. they were student at council rock south high school. and in light of the services, the school postponed its football game until today. >> philadelphia teachers preparing to welcome back students to school monday, staffers at edison high school walked the steps many of their kids will take through north philadelphia. they wanted the community to know they are focused on educating the killed, not on the political tug of war. superintendent william height says he's been in touch with state legislature about the 2-dollar per pack cigarette tax. >> i'm cautiously optimist being, just based on those assurances, and we hope that individuals are will rely on their word, try to work as hard as they can, in orders to get this thing done. >> district officials say if the cigarette tax isn't passed soon, to help close the $81 million budget deficit, more cuts will have to be made. federal officials and city leaders took a tour of have long to go with this heat and humidity, but boy is it ever here today. clear skies, right now. but notice, the clouds that are starting to move in. so i think you'll be finding more clouds as we move through the afternoon. the showers, well, they're not that many of them out there right now. this is cold front. it is going to come through here, with some fanfare, so expect to find some showers, maybe even thunderstorm, some gusty wind, especially, in certain areas, and i'll show you the areas more likely to find the stronger storms. but this is the look right now. we are dry and i think much of the day we will probably stay dry. but then those showers do start to come in much later on today. seventy-six in philadelphia right now. it is humid 76, too, 74 in trenton, 74 wilmington, 71 up in the poconos, we've got temperatures in the 70s at the shore, we've got temperatures at 70s in the ocean, and everywhere you go, we have temperatures in the 70s, and this cold front, though, will be ending all of. that will so temperatures that are at 90 degrees today will turn in to the upper 70s, maybe right about 80 degrees tomorrow, as high pressure builds in here. things get much better tomorrow. it will feel completely different, and it will be as if you took a trip and you never had to pay for a ticket to get there. on monday, we are in the 70s, as well, probably the upper 70s at that point. severe threat, this is the area, that the storm prediction center in norman, oklahoma says is more likely to find the strong to severe storms. and that's to the north, and to the east of the philadelphia area, for gusty winds, some heavy downpours, and also some thunder and lightning out of that. not to say that we can't also be finding that in our area, but it looks like the dynamics are better to the north and to the east with that. let's look at the computer model. >> this changes during the morning. let's see if we've got any changes coming in here. it wants to still keep us with mostly clear skies, so expect to find some clouds popping up here, by 3:00 in the afternoon. reading, you see shower, lancaster, at 3:00. you see a shower, then we get to 8:00 tonight. this front apparently is slowing down as it makes its way across pennsylvania, poconos at 8:00. reading at 8:00. do not set your clocks by this. do not base your plans on. >> this this timing can change. just know that there is a front that comes through, and it comes through with some fanfare to the north and the east, and maybe also to the south through philadelphia. does it cool, and nobody in parked cars. 65 degrees, tonight, shower, thunderstorm, then as we get to tomorrow morning, things start clearing out, cools down, humidity drops. eighty for the high tomorrow. neuroblastoma. >> there is no doubt that immuno they arely play a very important role in curing neuroblastoma. and the hope is that as we get better at the immuno therapy, we can pull back on the very
