Committee to give young people a voice on Mackay issues

Premium Content Subscriber only Young people in the Mackay region will soon have an opportunity to help inform local and state policies and have a say on issues affecting them. Mackay MP Julieanne Gilbert MP has set up a new Youth Advisory Committee and is inviting young people aged 16 to 25 years to apply to be involved. Mrs Gilbert said the committee would help grow the confidence, skills and leadership abilities of members and improve their knowledge of government and policymaking processes. This is an exciting opportunity for young people to contribute to local and state policymaking on issues important to them, and learn more about how government can help effect change, she said.
