FAYETTEVILLE - El Dorado’s DeAndra Burns Jr. finished the first day of the Arkansas High School Decathlon in ninth place after five events Wednesday. The decathlon and heptathlon conclude on Thursday.
El Dorado leads a strong contingent of Union County athletes who qualified for the prestigious Meet of Champions, which will be held Wednesday at Russellville.
Strong’s Kaiden McHenry-Jones blew away the field Wednesday in the 110-meter hurdles, claiming the event title in the 1A State Track & Field Championships at Lincoln.
Strong had its fingertips on state track championships the last two seasons, only to see another team take them home. The Bulldogs will give it another shot on Wednesday when they compete in the 1A State Track & Field Championships in Lincoln.
There might’ve been a chance Strong’s Kaiden McHenry-Jones could’ve flown under the radar at the 1A State Track & Field Championships, which will be held Wednesday at Lincoln. But that was before he etched his name into the record books.
