Chicago police say a 17-year-old turned himself in on a gun offense, making him the third suspect arrested following a mass shooting at a McDonald’s near Magnificent Mile last month.

A third suspect has been charged in connection to a deadly mass shooting that occurred last month on Chicago's Near North Side.

The third offender is a 17-year-old boy.

The teen turned himself into police Thursday and was charged with one felony count of unlawful possession of a weapon, Chicago police said.

Jaylun Sanders, 21, of South Shore, faces two counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.

Prosecutors said that Jaylun Sanders gave a statement (recorded on video) in which he first denied being the shooter, but later admitted that he got the Glock from a cousin via Indiana, and that the auto switch can be bought for about $20 on the street.
