Former 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh told the High Court here Tuesday that he did not meet Datuk Seri Najib Razak to inform him about his resignation as he suspected that the former prime minister was involved in alleged irregular 1MDB monetary transactions
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here was told on Wednesday (April 13) that former auditor-general Tan Sri Ambrin Buang should have decided on what information to be included and excluded in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) final audit report as he was the one having the ultimate authority at the point of time.
Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh testified that he was “suspicious” that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak was “involved in the scheme of things” in regards to 1Malaysia Development Bhd’s (1MDB) PetroSaudi joint venture (JV) in 2009, which eventually spiralled to burn a sum of US$1.53 billion in 1MDB’s coffers.
