Overall numbers of unhoused people across the state have increased, but experts say the point-in-time count doesn’t account for the complexities of homelessness and is a single annual snapshot within a community that changes every day.

Nevada lobbyists representing the state’s gaming industry asked lawmakers to establish a $100 million fund to support the buildout of a “transformational campus” that offers support to the unhoused or people at risk of homelessness.

The city is moving forward with a new interstate interchange just west of South Shades Crest Road, as well as an arts center and an estimated $20 million worth of improvements at the Hoover Met.
