Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation is alleging that a law firm hired to help its businesses instead helped a former CEO defraud those businesses of millions of dollars. The law firm says the allegations are without merit.

The claims aren’t proven in court, but in a memorandum filed to the Supreme Court of Canada the Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation says Ron Barlas’s conduct “falls at the most egregious end of the spectrum of corporate wrongdoing.”

The Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation is asking the courts to quash the search warrant that wildlife officers used last month to search a culture camp for evidence of illegal caribou hunting.
