Bottom line: making "The Fade" series is a lot of fun. Sure, the film may take place in a dystopian society several decades in the future, involving a plot to create an army of child drones as part of a twisted effort to create their version of a better world. But filmmaker Tim Bangle and his son Lukas — the driving forces behind The Other Dog Films — said the movies, as well as the next installment, are about much more than that; they are about hope and not giving up.

Auditions for "Legally Blonde" kicked off Wednesday, and continue today and Friday. On Saturday, callbacks will be held. Those interested should come prepared with a minute-long dialogue and 30 seconds of music.

Lake Pend Oreille Repertory Theater is putting on its latest production, "Murder on the Orient Express" beginning this weekend. Opening night is Friday, with additional shows on Saturday, Sept. 16, and Sept. 22-23. Performances begin at 7 p.m. on the Panida stage.

Like any good fairy tale, “Into the Woods” begins with the classic line: “Once upon a time.” Little Red is there. So is the Baker and his Wife. Cinderella and Rapunzel are there as is Jack, who is en route to sell the cow. The classic musical weaves the tales of characters from the four fairy tales in their quest for Happily Ever After — and what follows. “The play is so fun,” director Keely Gray said of Lake Pend Oreille Repertory Theater’s upcoming production.
