There is a continued push for solutions in Fort Pierce after yet another shooting. The latest shooting injured a 16-year-old girl at the Lincoln Park Community Center, police said.

A St. Lucie County deputy placed on administrative leave without pay on Saturday following accusations of excessive force was fired on Monday.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office deputy who was arrested for allegedly using excessive force when helping take a suspect into custody has now lost his job.

Randy Walker, an eight-year deputy of the St Lucie County Sheriff's Office, was arrested on two warrants related to an arrest he was involved in on April 2.

The deputy is accused of misdemeanor battery and making a false statement in connection with the April 2 incident.

The state attorney for the judicial district that includes St. Lucie County claims Sheriff Keith Pearson's actions are creating a "crisis of confidence in the judicial system."
