St. Louis Police are on the lookout for an escaped child sex offender who walked out of a hospital leading schools being placed on lockdown.

A child-sex offender was captured Thursday night after escaping from a St. Louis County hospital and causing a manhunt that transfixed much of the region.

Police are searching for Tommy Wayne Boyd, 45. He walked out of the hospital on Kennerly Road sometime around 4 a.m. Thursday.
