MARDELA SPRINGS, MD.- Behind five runs in the top of the 7th inning, the Bennett Clippers defeated Mardela 9-7 to move to 4-1 on the year. The loss drops the Warriors to 4-2.
On the day that the MPSSAA voted 57-1 to hold a state tournament, we were treated to a top Bayside South matchup in Mardela. The Warriors sitting at 4-1 on the year welcomed in the Bennett who was having one of their best years in a while. The Clippers came out firing, taking a 4-3 leading the bottom of the fifth inning. In the bottom of the inning, the Warriors began their comeback. Four combined runs in the fifth and sixth innings gave Mardela the 7-4 lead headed to the top of the 7th. Bennett kicked the final inning off with a bang. With two on base, Madison Lewis blasted a homer over the right field fence to tie the game up at 7 to start a 5 run inning for the Clippers to retake the 9-7 lead headed to the bottom of the inning. SALISBURY, MD.- Behind 8 runs in the first three innings, the Parkside Rams shut out defending 3A state champion Bennett 10-0 through 6 innings. The Rams get their first win of the season after their first two games were postponed due to rain. The loss is the Clippers first on the year, dropping them to 1-1.
It’s been two years since we saw baseball in the Bayside, May 15, 2019 was the last time we say any Bayside baseball before the Pandemic. The Bennett Clippers were hoisting the 3A state championship trophy. The Rams fell in the 2019 2A East regional finals 2-0 to Falston.

SALISBURY, MD.- For the 23rd time in program history, Salisbury Mens Lacrosse captured the conference title. The Gulls took down Christopher Newport 12-9 for the Coast to Coast conference championship.
The Gulls jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead behind two Griff Moroney goals in the first quarter. CNU countered with a 2-0 run of their own, Brady Atobello and Dylan Rice got the Captains on the board to tie us up at two to start the second quarter. From there, SU went on a 3-1 run to end the half for the 6-3 lead at the break.
