We go into early in the afternoon with upper 60s. We continue to warm up a few more degrees from yesterday. Overall were looking at a pretty pleasant afternoon with a breezy wind, sunshine, and high temperatures across the bay area. Well reach anywhere from the low 60s to the low 80s for the east bay valleys. We have a pretty significant heatup in the forecast. Ill talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. 160 workers and residents were inside the building when these flames started around 10 45 last night. You can see staff and volunteers helped get people out in wheelchairs, even in their beds and wrapped them up in blankets in that bitterly cold night. Deanna is joining us. Investigators say the evacuation was so chaotic, they are still tracking everyone down. Reporter they want to be careful and make sure they have accounted for everything. Down. Just seemed like theres always something happening around this area. Reporter lauer roo reid never expected to see something horrible like this. Passenger train cars toppled from the tracks. Down on top of traffic that was flowing below. When we got to the scene, it was obvious that there were some fatalities and there were a lot of injuries and some people were able to get off the train. Reporter those people taken away in ambulances or standing wrapped in blankets along the road. About 40 miles from the seattle amtrak station where they boarded the very first run of a faster new route. Multiple cars and trucks were struck by train cars that left the train tracks and went down on to the road. Its terrible thing. Very upsetting even though when you seat pictures its pretty horrific at this point nobody in any of the vehicles is a fatal. Fatals are contained to the train.
