A man was pulled from his vehicle Monday after he drove over a 20-foot embankment and into the side of a Kernville residence, authorities said.

The Kern County Fire Department has been preparing for the spring melt, and with temperatures reaching the nineties by the end of the week, that melt could start coming down fast.
