An official statement from Gangu Ramsay's family informed that the veteran cinematographer breathed his last at the age of 83.

Collaborating with his siblings, the esteemed Ramsay Brothers, Gangu Ramsay left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry, lending his visionary talent and technical expertise to over 50 cinematic ventures. Among his most notable contributions are timeless classics like Veerana, Purana Mandir, Bandh Darwaza, Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche, and many more, each leaving an enduring legacy in the realm of horror and suspense cinema.
