The two debates included incumbents Jean Marvin and Cathy Nathan, and their challengers Kim Rishavy and Elena Niehoff.

School board elections are technically nonpartisan races. However, the primary turned into a race deeply dividing voters into two camps.

Ahead of the August 9 Minnesota Primary, it's turning out to be a highly contested and increasingly partisan race to fill several seats on the nonpartisan Rochester Public School.
