Dozens of kimono and ao dai dresses by Japanese designer Kobayashi Eiko have featured in a dazzling fashion show in Hanoi. The catwalk show is among a series of cultural events this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Japan – Vietnam relationship, a joint effort by the Be-Japon, Japan’s Embassy in Việt Nam and the BRG group.

The story of creativity, traditional beauty, and a harmonious combination between the two cultures of Vietnam and Japan was told in a vivid way at the Kimono - Ao dai Fashion Show held in Hanoi on March 4, just days before International Women’s Day.

More than 20 kimonos and ao dai made from antique kimono fabric were on show at a recent Kimono-Aodai fashion show.

The Kimono-Ao Dai Fashion Show that is taking place on March 4 is a rare opportunity for the public to enjoy the Junihitoe royal kimonos.
