“Cam was a very gentle spirit,” said Arnold. “My son and Cam had been friends since they both went to DeSoto and they were both boxers. Cam was a great kid. I never had a problem with him at all. Nobody ever had anything bad to say about Cam. He brought light to us as a team.”
Arnold said although Collier was known for body shots in the ring, “his heart is what really stood out.”

Per KWTX, DeSoto Police stated Camran Kashawn Collier, 19, was shot and killed on April 22. He was found dead in the driver’s seat of a 2013 Honda Accord. Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and then saw a man exit the Honda and run away from the scene,” per KWTX.
On April 25, three days after Camran’s death, a balloon release service was held, honoring the junior Olympic boxer and activist at Les Zeiger Park in DeSoto.

A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man he mistakenly believed to have killed his younger brother, DeSoto police say.
Norman Christopher Collier was booked into the Dallas County jail on a charge of capital murder after he shot a man in the head Sunday at a memorial ceremony for Collier’s younger brother, who was fatally shot last week in a car in DeSoto, police said. No arrests had been made by Friday in connection with Camran Collier’s death.
