all right. welcome back to our viewers in the united states and all around the world. the breaking news continues to be these russian claims, claims from russian state media, they say two ukrainian drones were flown toward the kremlin last night. again, russia claims it was a ukrainian plot to try to assassinate putin. there is no verification, no information at all coming from ukraine right now on this and they deny targeting russia. all right. back with us nick paton walsh who is in dnipro, ukraine, as well as matthew chance who just returned from moscow. we will get to matthew in just a second, but, nick, you have new information for us this morning, a statement that has come into you. reporter: yeah, ukrainian
she has been charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive, she is in the montgomery county jail, the neighboring county and also the county where the arrest took place last night. what is interesting is that we actually have witnessed over the last couple of days this woman coming a and going from the house where she lived with the suspect there just outside of cleveland, texas. she wouldn t talk to us, she actually went to great lengths to cover up her face so that we could not see her and a law enforcement source has told cnn that she had been surveilled by investigators for several days and all of this kind of leading to this arrest. a couple other tidbits of information, kate, sheriff s deputies here also saying that they were able to discover that francisco oropesa had another cellphone and in the days while he was on the run he was actually communicating with other people that he knew.
russian state media is reporting that two ukrainian drones were flown toward the kremlin last night. again, this is coming from the state-controlled russian media with absolutely no verification at all from the ukrainians or anyone else for that matter, and there are a variety of reasons why a russian claim like this would be advantageous to them which we will get into in a bit. and russia is calling this, though, a terrorist attack and also claiming that it was an attempt to assassinate russian president vladimir putin. we have team coverage on this breaking news for you. nic robertson is in eastern ukraine, nick paton walsh is in dnipro, ukraine, and major general james spider marks is joining us as well. let s start with nic robertson. what else are you picking up? reporter: well, what we re hearing from the ukrainians is they re down playing this, saying this is a trick to be expected from our opponents. they re saying that russia is
cnn s ed lachb dvender ra is on scene. we learned more detail surrounding the arrest and you have now also just learned of additional arrests. tell us more. reporter: right. you know, last night we had learned the news that francisco oropesa was arrested at that residence about 10 miles away from where the murders took place. this morning sheriff s deputies in this county saying several more arrests have been made. they won t specify exactly the number and just exactly who has been arrested but we have been able to confirm this morning that one of the people arrested is a woman by the name of nava and she is the long-time partner of francisco oropesa according to a source that knows the family, they have been together a long time, they share a child together who is in fifth grade and that that woman was arrested at the same location where francisco oropesa was arrested last night.
