Giovanni has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He first joined Swire Hotels in January of 2017 as the Vice President of Swire Hotels in the US and General Manager of EAST Miami. In 2021, he was promoted to Group Director of Operations of Swire Hotels, relocating to the company headquarters in Hong Kong to oversee all of the Group s hotels and restaurants, namely in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Miami.
Over the course of his career, Giovanni has administered both business and leisure properties in varied hotel segments and locations. Prior to joining Swire Hotels, he was the Managing Director of the legendary The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York City and home to world-renowned celebrities, athletes and royal visitors. In addition to managing the ultra-luxury hotel, he was also responsible for the Co-Op residences and the iconic Bemelmans Bar and Café Carlyle.
It has been over a year of Covid-19 in Hong Kong and it can sometimes feel hard to remember what life was like before the pandemic. But, with the vaccine rollout currently forging ahead, there is hope that those times aren’t lost forever, and that we won’t be eternally stuck in a world of Zoom meetings, social distancing and face masks.
Luckily, we live in a city where we have multiple vaccine brands available to us and the process is quick and free of charge. The vaccines are exciting for us, and with summer approaching and low Covid-19 numbers being reported, it s given us all hope that Hong Kong is finally on the road to recovery. One day soon, we’ll find ourselves doing what we were doing just two years ago.
