The Rome man who admitted to killing his own parents was sentenced in Oneida County Court Tuesday morning.

Kirk, age 32, stabbed his father, 60-year-old Howard J. Kirk III, and his mother, 53-year-old Amanda L. Osborne, to death at the residence they all shared at 5959 Old Oneida Road in the outer district of Rome on the morning of Oct. 18, 2021. Troopers said Kirk was spotted outside his home covered in blood, leading neighbors to call 911.

The man, identified as Kyle J. Kirk by New York State police, was found covered in blood on the driveway outside the familys mobile home at 5959 Old Oneida Road in Oneida County on Monday morning.

New York State Police have made an arrest following an investigation into a grisly double homicide on the outskirts of the City of Rome.

New York State Troopers said they found Kyle Kirk, 30, with blood on his clothing and his father, Howard Kirk III, 60, lying across the driveway suffering from stab wounds.
