A position-by-position look at the Chiefs roster for clues about what type of players they could be looking at this year in the NFL draft.

Set: Quarterback, Running Back The team has all world quarterback Patrick Mahomes and he’s not going anywhere.  For now, they have Chad Henne at backup and he’s a free agent next year, but this obviously isn’t a glaring need.  Perhaps they could take a future backup QB but then they’d have to carry three on the depth chart.  They also just used a first round pick on Clyde Edwards-Helaire last year, Darrell Williams proved serviceable (especially on passing downs as CEH gets acclima...

3 perfect options for Chiefs at No. 31 in 2021 NFL Draft April 16, 2021 The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL, but their ugly Super Bowl loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed there’s still plenty of room for improvement in order to get back to the mountaintop.  Below are three options to help the Chiefs hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy again.  1. The next jump happens in college, when suddenly players entering the league are your age, and it’s kind of neat. In your early twenties it’s still fun, and people slightly younger than you are beco...

On this date in 2017, ESPN’s Todd McShay played GM for every NFL team in a three-round mock. And I’m not sure which has me more confused: No quarterbacks going in Round 1 of this mock that was made about 20 days before the 2017 Draft … or that Mitchell Trubisky was still his QB1? In either case, re-visiting this mock draft should serve as a reminder of how much things can change between now and draft day. But also, it’s worth remembering that mock drafts are good for assessing team need...

Our latest 2021 NFL mock draft, which sees the 49ers taking Mac Jones and the Falcons snagging Kyle Pitts.

The 43-year-old has headed the organization’s front office for three seasons, while the team totaled 44 wins — the most victories among all NFL teams over that span. He also became...

Bill Streicher / USA Today Sports Images Washington is moving ahead with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starting quarterback in a very winnable NFC East, but protecting him should be a high priority in the draft.
