11xAI announced the closing of a $2 million pre-seed round led by Project A Ventures today. The London-based company builds automated digital workers that can be used in lieu of human employees. It has built an AI sales development representative called Alice and plans to create James, focused on automated talent acquisition and Bob, targeting automated human resources work in the upcoming years.

Picture: Stewart Attwood The EIE21 tech investor conference is set to take place in June with 25 Scottish firms among those pitching for up to £2 million of investment. A further seven start-ups from further afield have also been chosen to take part in the virtual event on June 10. Among them are Transwap, a Singapore fintech in the process of setting up in Scotland, London-based fintech Bridgeweave and iLoF, a digital health specialist based in Oxford. EIE is a year-round programme run by the University of Edinburgh’s Bayes Centre in partnership with the Data-Driven Innovation (DDI) initiative. The year-round programme is highlighted by a day of pitching to investors from around the world for seed level funding up to £2m or more.
