Two students from The Evergreen State College were honored with the 2024 Student Civic Award Friday, April 19, 2024, by the Washington Campus Coalition for the Public Good. This award recognizes the outstanding commitment to civic engagement and service these two students have had and the significant impact they’ve had on Evergreen’s campus and beyond.

The City of Lacey will host Night Market @ the Depot community events every other Friday April through October to spotlight emerging small businesses and tasty start-ups. The first event takes place April 26 from 4 -8 p.m. at the Lacey Depot Park, 5700 Lacey Boulevard SE.

This year, the Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) received more nominations than ever before for their annual Business Awards Gala, happening April 20 at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club.The event is open to the public and offers an opportunity for attendees to learn more about businesses in the area.

The funding builds on a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration for the LMS to acquire state-of-the-art manufacturing and prototyping equipment and to develop and implement a workforce training program.
