A Waltham, Massachusetts, police officer was laid to rest Friday after he was killed in a crash last week while working a traffic detail.

The entire city of Waltham and police from all over lined Trapelo Road to say their last goodbyes to Officer Paul Tracey, who's life was cut short while doing his job. An American flag flew high above as bagpipers led a procession of heartbroken colleagues and family members to the same church where Tracey got married.

Services began Thursday for the Waltham police officer and National Grid worker killed while working a construction detail on Dec. 6.

“He loved his job and did it to his fullest,” said John Kavey, who is Officer Tracey’s cousin.

The procession begins at 9:30 a.m., traveling on Moody Street, Main Street, and eventually onto Trapelo Road.
