LaGrange is set to become the host city for Georgia’s newest port, the West Georgia Inland Port.

This is the fourth in a four-part series looking back at 2023 in Troup County. The final part includes October through December.

The candidates for LaGrange City Council gathered at the Active Life Senior Center on Tuesday morning for a short forum to introduce themselves as candidates. 

The City of LaGrange has signed off on an agreement between the LaGrange Development Authority and RemArms LLC (Remington Firearms) for their long-planned manufacturing facility. The LaGrange Development Authority (LDA) has reached terms with RemArms to sell approximately 43.4 acres near Ridley Lake for the industrial development.

The Development Authority of LaGrange is partnering with the LaGrange Housing Authority and West Georgia Star to create a workforce shuttle program as a low-cost transportation alternative for employees who work in the LaGrange Industrial Park and the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.
