T’s been raining cats and dogs just about every other day here in Wichita Falls. Maybe it’s time to lift drought restrictions.

The combined area lake levels have risen by this week.

Even with those nice increases, and more rain chances in the forecast, Wichita Falls water customers are still under stage one drought watch.

Lake Arrowhead and Lake Kickapoo both saw falling water levels this week.

The Sheriff’s Office received 140 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 38 inmates and 3 being female in the Archer County Jail.

Wichita Falls lakes wither further as a heat wave maintained its grip on the region over the past week.

Despite summer thunderstorms that have dropped appreciable rain in the area, Wichita Falls lakes have again dropped below 65 percent, the number that triggers the first stage of water use restrictions.

Lake levels in Wichita Falls are currently in stage 1. This stage was triggered back in January at the 65% mark and only affects irrigation.

Lake levels have risen half a percent this week.
