If the GAA had met in open sessions instead of executive sessions, to conduct what should be normal business, all the excessive attorneys’ fees would not have been necessary.

A ruling Friday means the claims the Gadsden Airport Authority violated the state Open Meetings Act will go forward in Etowah County Circuit Court.

The present GAA board is made up of good people, they are just airport management deficient.

These are all pertinent questions that should be answered by the GAA for Gadsden and Etowah County residents and taxpayers, especially the latter because they have no idea how their hard-earned dollars are being appropriated.

Gadsden Airport Authority member Ken Robertson voted against and spoke against the boards use of executive sessions since he was appointed in August.

As Gadsden Airport Authority members claim the initial lawsuit against the rendering plant is moot, responses, motions are filed in related cases.

The move follows an announcement that the Etowah County Commission and the cities of Rainbow City and Southside will sue to block the plant proposal.
