The Larimer Humane Society, which has absorbed the assets of the dissolved Humane Society of Weld County, launched the combined entity on Monday under the new brand of NoCo Humane.

NOCO Humane opens today in Evans, in the building formerly occupied by the Humane Society of Weld County at 1620 42nd St., with a gradual expansion of services — including adoptions and surrenders available Oct. 4-16.

After more than 50 years as Larimer Humane Society, the organization has debuted a new name and logo to reflect its expansion into Weld County.

"Support is incredibly important for what we do," said Judy Calhoun, CEO of the Larimer Humane Society.

Saturday’s warm temperatures and sunny skies made for a great day for organizers of the third annual WoofStock event that was held at Weld Community Credit Union, 2555 47th Ave., Greeley. The credit union hosts the event to help raise money and awareness a round pet adoption while also helping support the Humane Society of Weld County — soon to be the Larimer Humane Society.
