Several profiled Northwest Washington businesses and people continued to make news

Bellingham-based Allies recently re-achieved national accreditation for its specialty boutique, which fits women who are breast cancer survivors with nonsurgical products. Allies is the only provider of its type in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties and is in the process of expanding to Anchorage.

As part of KSUT’s One Small Step partnership with StoryCorps, here’s another excerpt from the project. Scott Mathis and Laura DeWitt were strangers when they met at KSUT last summer. They kick around the meaning of the words “conservative” and “liberal” and explore how their lives have shaped their politics.
