AFTER the fourth count in the race to become the first directly-elected mayor of Limerick, we have lost two candidates from the race in one swoop.

Added confusion to the position abounds, as the vote encompasses both city and county areas of roughly equal size, which could lead to the possibility of an additional mayoral position in the region down the line
