SIR – However laudable the long-term cause of the Just Stop Oil demonstrators may be, their methods are serving only to alienate potential supporters, who are being denied their right to go about their lawful business.

SIR – The queues we are witnessing as people pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II differ only in their clothing from the ones in the photograph on the front of Tuesday’s Features section, of people waiting to see Winston Churchill lying in state in 1965.

SIR – The next prime minister will have a mountain of problems to deal with.
